How to Get Your Music into iTunes
Your iPod comes loaded with an operating system and a number of little goodies like an address book, calendar, clock - stuff like that.
Your job is to copy all those CD’s you have into iTunes so that you can leave all those CD’s at home. To get your music off a CD and into your iPod is easy now that you’ve installed iTunes.
Here’s how to copy a CD into iTunes
- Open iTunes
- Put a CD into the cd-rom drive.
- iTunes will pop open a little window and ask you if you want to import the CD into your iTunes library.
- Chose ‘yes’.
- If you check the box that says "Do not ask me again", any new CD will automatically be imported.
While importing, iTunes will start playing the CD so you get to be entertained while waiting.
That’s all you have to do. Just repeat the process for all your CD’s. Once you get them into iTunes, you can store those discs in a safe place and not have to worry about losing or damaging that music you paid for.
How to Get Music Files on Your Hard Drive into iTunes
If you already have audio files on your computer’s hard drive saved as mp3’s:
- Open the folder they’re in
- Select one, several or all
- Drag and drop into iTunes.
Ok, so now you’ve got your audio files into your Library. Now you can categorize them so you can easily find just the music you want to listen to with a click of the wheel.
