How to Load Music into your iPod

You’ve come a long way now…

Bought your iPod, downloaded and installed iTunes, copied your CD’s and imported music into iTunes, made your Playlists….. whew.

So here’s how to get all those tunes into your iPod. Get ready, this is technical.

Plug your iPod into your computer with the cable it came with.

That’s it.

Really…. well, unless your computer was turned off. If it was, you’d have to turn it on first.

The software in your iPod and iTunes does all the work for you. If you buy new music or import a new CD into iTunes, the next time you connect your iPod to your computer, all the new files will be added.

If you have a Smart Playlist set to play new music added within a certain time frame, that will also be automatically updated.

If you create new Playlists, they will also be added. In fact, any changes you make in iTunes will make changes in your iPod each time you connect it.

The main thing to remember is don’t disconnect your iPod until it’s finished being updated.

It’s very cool how it all works so effortlessly. The only thing you need to do is import music into iTunes and make Playlists. Actually, you don’t even have to make Playlists if you don’t want to.  Your iPod will always give you a choice of Artist, Album or Genre and you can choose what you want from that list.
